The promise, in three parts

💯 5% of everything, not 5% of profit Every subscription and every tip, off the top. Before Apple's commission, before hosting, before tax, before anything I take home.
🐾 UK animal welfare charities Registered charities that rescue, rehome and treat dogs and cats. I am agreeing terms with them now, and each will be named on this page once they have said yes.
📄 Every payment published What was raised, who received it, and when. If it isn't published here, it didn't happen.

How the 5% is worked out

"Off the top" is the whole point, so here it is as a sum. Most pledges quietly mean 5% of what is left after everyone else has been paid, which can round to nothing.

For every £10 that reaches Boop, 50p goes out. It is calculated on the gross amount, so it does not shrink because a month was expensive, and it does not wait for Boop to be profitable.

The ledger

Published quarterly, within 30 days of the quarter ending. Amounts are in pounds and include the receipt reference from the charity where they issue one.

The first quarter in which Boop can earn anything is the one ending 30 September, so the first entry is due here by 31 October 2026, even if the amount is pennies. If that date passes with nothing published, the promise has been broken and you should say so.

Why this page exists before there is anything on it

A charity pledge with no ledger is a marketing line. Publishing the empty version first is the only way the promise can be checked later, because it fixes the terms, the cadence and the arithmetic in advance, while there is still nothing to be embarrassed about.

If a quarter passes with revenue and no entry here, that is a broken promise and you are welcome to email me about it.

Questions I would ask

🤔 Does the money on the support page count? Yes. Tips through boopapp.uk/support are money Boop makes, so the same 5% comes off the top before anything reaches me.
🧾 Is Boop a charity? No. Boop is a small independent business in the UK. It gives a fixed share of its revenue to registered charities, which is a different thing, and it does not claim Gift Aid or any tax relief on your behalf.
📅 Why quarterly and not monthly? Because a charity would rather receive one useful payment than three tiny ones, and because a cadence I can keep is worth more than one that sounds better.
🙅 Can I choose which charity? Not through Boop. Picking recipients per person would cost more in admin than it raises. If you have a rescue you care about, giving to them directly will always beat routing it through me.
